The accumulative knowledge, wisdom, experiences and achievements of the human civilization are best recorded in books. Therefore, a library has its own importance in our life. Keeping this in view, Sushma Koirala Memorial Trust had come up with a library project titled Sushma Koirala Memorial Eastern Development Region Central Library Project. It was sponsored by The Embassy of Japan and India together with construction of the library building, donation of books, equipment and other materials including furniture. The library is housed in the premises of Adarsh Balika Higher Secondary Girls' School, Biratnagar, under the management of the school.

Today Sushma Koirala Memorial Library is a pride institution of the Eastern Development Region. The Trust has also encouraged the establishment of community libraries in several village development committees (VDCs) of Sunsari district, which are looked after by the concerned community.
